A SPA man’s marathon efforts have helped a town charity continue its support for families across the West Midlands.
Steve Gwilliam completed his fifth London Marathon in April and raised more than £1,600 for Murray’s Muscles which offers help to nearly 6,000 people across the West Midlands with muscular dystrophy.
The charity was set up in honour of Droitwich teenager Murray Field who was has the muscle-wasting condition Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
As well as support and awareness about the condition, the charity also purchases specialist equipment which is not available on the NHS.
Steve, who completed the challenge in four and a half hours, said: “The real buzz is being able to raise money for people across the West Midlands like Murray who suffer from muscle diseases.”
Murray’s dad, Mark Field said: “We never stop being amazed at Steve’s bottomless pit of energy and enthusiasm.”
