SNAP-HAPPY Spa residents are being invited to share their images of the town’s recent Diamond Jubilee celebrations and pick up a prize.

The Droitwich Spa Heritage Group hope to compile a photographic record of how the town celebrated 60 years of rule by HM the Queen earlier this month.

Members are on the lookout for images which capture the spirit of the celebrations, either of the numerous events in and around the town or the seven Droitwich street parties.

And as well as forming a pictorial record of the celebrations, the 25 best images will see Spa snappers awarded a Droitwich Town Council Jubilee medal and certificate.

The overall winner of the competition will also be rewarded for their efforts with £50 while the second and third placed entries will be handed £30 and £20 respectively.

Anyone who gets their entries in early will be able to see their work displayed during Droitwich’s Summer Festival and boat gathering festivities on June 23.

Heritage Group chairman, Pam Davey, said: “We hope to see as many images as possible of how Droitwich Spa celebrated the Diamond Jubilee.

“We regret we are unable to return any photographs sent, anyone who sends images will confer the right to include their photograph in the photographic record,” she added.

Entries can be e-mailed to pdavey@worcestershire.gov.uk or posted to Pam Davey, Kantara, Hanbury Road, Droitwich Spa, WR9 7DN.

The closing date for entries is August 31 and the winners will be announced at Salt Fest in September.
