DROITWICH’s popular charity trip boat, the Pamela May, has been given a fresh new look thanks in part to a £500 grant from Worcestershire County Council.

The boat has been serviced and re-painted at Brookline Narrowboats in Dunhampstead during the winter in preparation for the new canal cruising season.

And as a part of the work, the Droitwich Waterways (Pamela May) Trust secured a Community Arts Grant to commission Andy Edwards from the Forge Gallery to come up with classical canal boat art.

Visitors took their first peek at the new artwork with trips on the boat in Vines Park during the town’s annual St Richard’s Festival celebrations last Saturday (May 5).
