STAFF and students at Droitwich Spa High School are celebrating after being handed a £100 cash boost from a town opticians.
Members of staff from Specsavers in St Andrews Square presented a cheque to the school which will go towards the running costs of its thriving library.
The cash was raised from a book sale which saw Specsavers staff invite people to donate books which were then sold in return for a donation to the school.
Store director Emma Singh said: “Reading is something we’re passionate about, but for many people it’s often the first time that they notice a problem with their eyesight.
Head teacher Natalie Waters said: “Keeping the library fully resourced can be very costly, so this kind donation will really help us to provide the best possible literature to our students.”
