A MAN was taken to hospital after a crash between the car he was driving and a lorry on the Worcester Road outside the Copcut Elm in Droitwich around 6.30am this morning.
The victim suffered a leg injury in the incident which saw the A38 closed in both directions for almost six hours and caused traffic chaos.
Three rapid response West Midlands Ambulance Service vehicles and an ambulance were at the scene as was the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The car driver was assessed at the scene by the air ambulance doctor prior to and after his removal from the car.
"He had a bad leg injury. His leg wounds were dressed and he was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further assessment and treatment. There was no injury to the lorry driver," he added.
