PATRIOTIC Peggy Smith was so excited about The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee that she dressed up as Her Majesty as part of the celebrations at Droitwich’s Westmead Care Home.

The 88-year-old delighted other residents and staff at the home, who donned red, white and blue for the occasion.

The home was fully decorated in bunting and traditional regalia for a ‘good old fashioned knees up’ and Dorothy Spencer created a giant crown cake, along with jubilee cupcakes.

Other activities included live music, face-painting, stalls selling bric-a-brac and a barbecue.

The home’s activities leader Maureen Morse said: “Peggy saw the tiara and said ‘it’s so beautiful’, so she wore it with great pride, along with some very regal gloves and a stunning dress.”

The home’s manager Sue Stokes added: “Our residents are so fond of The Queen, so we really pulled out all the stops to make sure this was a very special day for them look back on.
