Hi: 13° Lo:-1°
YOUNG members of Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club earned their team second place behind Hereford & Worcester at the opening competition of the UK Young Athletes League Midlands Division One (Central) in Worcester.

The second meeting of the competition takes place on Sunday when athletes will be travelling to Yate.
MANY B&R members also supported the local LLR Fun Run on Sunday, which followed routes around the lanes and canalside of Finstall.
Bromsgrove and Redditch's David Gemmell won the 10km race in 36.19 and club-mate Julie Phillips was the first female home in 43.41.
Meanwhile, in the 5km race, Bromsgrove & Redditch's 11-year-old Olivia Worth stormed home as second female - sixth overall - in 21.04, just behind Halesowen senior athlete Jules Dale.
THERE was more golden glory for B&R's U11 Lewis Byng when he attended an open athletics meeting in Rugby.
Glad to have made the journey, Lewis came home with an array of medals as he won gold in the U11 boys 75m sprint in 10.7 seconds, beating second place by over a second, gold in the 150m sprint in 21.6 seconds, beating the opposition by over three seconds, and gold in the long jump with a leap of 4.07m, some 57cm in front of the second placed athlete.
