Saturday June 2
Farmers Market between 9am and 4pm and live music throughout the day
A ‘Our War’ and ‘Our Coronation’ special display of related books and microfilm plus the chance to record your own memories.
Craft sessions for children to create their own Jubilee plates and flags and family learning sessions from 10am to 11.30am and again between 2pm and 3.30pm.
Tickets are available from the library. There will also be children’s library activities all day.
Community Hall, Heritage Way
A Jubilee afternoon tea dance between 3pm and 6pm with music by ‘Steady Eddie’. Tickets are £3.50 which includes tea and biscuits. Dress code is red, white and blue and for more information call Jan Bolton on 01905 775852.
St Andrew’s Church
A hobbies and craft display where residents can also share their passion and bring their own collections to exhibit. There will also be a book sale from Droitwich Lions, tea room refreshments in the parish rooms and a ‘Diamond Display’ – 60 works of art in local shops.
St Andrew’s Shopping Centre
The Lighthouse Puppet Show will be on show as will music from brass bands.
A variety of activities which will include craft stalls in the marquee, live professional music at the statue, children’s fair rides and the chance to board the Pamela May and take a trip on the canal.
Children can meet the animals on a mini farm, bell boat rides and instruction will be available was will the chance to test your circus skills. Real ales and ice creams will also be on offer.
And into the evening... in the marquee at Vines Park there will be a free Oompah Party which has been organised by the French and German twinning groups. The St Augustine’s Bellringers will ring in the Quarter Peal between 10pm and 11pm.
Sunday June 3
There will be a interchurch Thanksgiving service at 12.15pm following by a performance by the Salvation Army band at 12.30pm. Two further bands will play while residents enjoy ‘The Big Lunch’ – lunches can be brought along or pre-booked at the Lido Cafe.
Children’s Magic Punch and Judy will be on show at 10.35am and 11.35am in the marquee while refreshments will again be available. The chance to board the Pamela May and take a trip on the canal, bell boat rides and instruction and the chance to test your circus skills will again be on offer.
Visitors are also welcome to view the bowling club tournament which will take place.
And into the evening... in the marquee at Vines Park there will be a free youth concert/showcase featuring local talented musicians and singers.
Meanwhile the Spa Youth Zone at the Royal British Legion on Salwarpe Road will hold a barbeque and disco from 6pm.
Monday June 4
In the marquee from 10am there will be pot plants and flower arranging demonstrations from the Droitwich Horticultural Society. Members of the Droitwich History and Archaeological Society and the Ladies of the British Legion will also stage a 50s fashion show.
Refreshments will be available as will trips on the Pamela May and bell boat rides and instruction.
Visitors are also welcome to view the bowling club tournament which will take place while youngsters can again visit the mini-farm and meet the animals.
Droitwich Model Boat Club will host the launch of a circular walk project at 12midday by the town’s MP Peter Luff.
And into the evening... in the marquee at Vines Park there will be a live free professional music showcase/variety show featuring local choirs, musicians and singers.
Lido Park will host a family fun day and Mini Olympics which kicks off at 11am to 12.30pm with a swimming gala organised by Wychavon Leisure. Skill sports will be offered by the Leisure and Dolphin Clubs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm while Droitwich Tennis Club will offer sessions for adults from 12pm to 2pm and juniors from 2pm to 4pm.
Droitwich Cricket Club will hold open sessions from 12midday to 3pm while members of the Taekwondo Club will stage two 30 minute demonstrations between 12 midday and 5pm to include sparring and self defence.
Displays of boxing will be staged by Droitwich Boxing Club while visitors can enjoy an open day at St Peter’s Fields Forest Garden as well as a fishing competition.
Spa Youth Zone, Royal British Legion, Salwarpe Road.
Teddy racing, quizzes, table top stalls and beat the goalie will be among the activities on offer during the day.
Tuesday June 5
Street parties will be held across the town to celebrate 60 years of rule by HM the Queen.
An eight-mile Jubilee walk will begin at 9.30am from Droitwich Leisure Centre and finish at 2pm back at the Briar Mill venue.
An open gardens event will be held by the Droitwich Spa Rotary Club and Horticultural Society while the Spa Youth Zone will host cookery, arts and crafts between 1pm and 4pm.
