A FORMER Droitwich resident who was convicted of murdering his wife and baby daughter at their US home has launched a formal appeal against his conviction.
Neil Entwistle, 32, was jailed for life in June 2008 for shooting his wife Rachel, 27, and nine-month-old daughter Lillian at their Massachusetts home in January 2006.
Entwistle’s lawyer argued he should receive a fresh trial because police searched his home without a warrant when they came to check on his family.
The couple had moved to the United States after three years living in Droitwich where Mrs Entwistle worked as a teacher at St Augustine’s RC High School in Redditch.
A decision on whether a fresh trial should take place is not expected for a number of weeks.
