KIND-HEARTED Droitwich residents were among more than 40 swimmers who made a splash for the cash in aid of St Richard’s Hospice.

Fund-raisers aged from seven to 73-years-old dived in to raise money as part of the charity’s annual swimathon on January 22.

The swimmers were sponsored for every length of the pool they completed during the event which took place at New College on Whittington Road in Worcester.

Community fund-raiser, Lizzie Brazier, said: “There were youngsters who had only recently learned to swim alongside very experienced swimmers.

“We are hoping the swimathon will raise around £2,500 for St Richard’s and want to say a big thanks to all those that took part,” she added.
