Swimmers Gregory Smith, George Wing and Joshua Wing are supporting the hospice’s swimathon. (s)
KEEN swimmers are being urged to take the plunge and join in with a fund-raising swimathon.
St Richard’s Hospice is organising the splash for cash event at New College, on Whittington Road on January 22.
People of all ages and abilities are being encouraged to take part in the swimming from 12.30pm.
Community fund-raiser Lizzie Brazier said: “Everyone is welcome to come along to the 25metre pool to see how far they can swim in an allocated half hour slot. Participants can either get sponsored per length or just for taking part.”
She added: “The lovely pool is warmer than most others, so it would be great to have as many people as possible to get into the spirit and splash for cash!’
To register and get a swimming time call the hospice’s fund-raising department on 01905 763963, e-mail lbrazier@strichards.org.uk or visit www.strichards.org.uk/swimathon for more information.
