DROITWICH residents are being encouraged to take advantage of a new system which aims to reduce the stress of registering a death or a birth.
The town’s Registration Office at Droitwich Library is celebrating the launch of ‘Tell Us Once’ which enables customers to report a death or birth just once.
Then, with the customer’s consent, that information is shared with a number of central and local government organisations so the customer does not have to contact each of them individually themselves.
Droitwich County Councillor, Pam Davey, said: “Registering a death or birth can be very stressful for different reasons and so I think Droitwich residents will welcome this new system.
“It will also improve customer service, which goes a long way during stressful times,” she added.
Anyone who wishes to use the service can do so by calling the Worcestershire Hub on 0845 603 2859 to make an appointment.
The advisor will book an appointment with a local registrar and will also outline what documents will need to be brought along to the meeting.
