YOUNGSTERS from St Joseph's RC First School and Droitwich Spa Nursery and Kindergarten celebrated Chinese New Year on Monday (January 23).

To welcome in the year of the dragon, St Joseph's youngsters dressed up in Chinese clothes, made Chinese dragons, learned a Chinese dragon dance and made Chinese lanterns.

They were also told the story of the Chinese Zodiac animals and acted out the experience of going to a Chinese restaurant.

Foundation stage leader Louisa Snape said: "It's a fantastic way to bring another culture to life for our children and creates lasting memories about what is

happening in the world they live in."

At Droitwich Spa Nursery and Kindergarten, little learners enjoyed tasting the many mouth-watering Chinese dishes on offer

And creative pre-school children marked the new year in style and created their very own Chinese dragon.
