By Harriet Ernstsons 08/12 Updated: 05/01 16:36

A FUN-FILLED Broadway version of a Gilbert and Sullivan classic is set to hit the stage in spring next year.

Tickets are already on sale for Astwood Bank Operatic Society’s production of The Pirates of Penzance which runs at the Palace Theatre from March 6 to 10.

The words and lyrics of the original are combined with new musical arrangements and completely over the top characters in the show, which includes the popular songs such as I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major General, Poor Wandering One and When The Foreman Bears His Steel.

The show is guaranteed fun for all of the family, whether the audience members are seasoned Gilbert and Sullivan fans or are fans of musical comedy. The wonderfully colourful production includes a full orchestra, costumed characters, scenery and vibrant singing.

Tickets costing £12.50 for 7.30pm performances or £11 for the 2.30pm Saturday matinée are available from 01527 546569, www.astwoodbankoperatic.co.uk or the Palace box office on 01527 65203.
