Dr Hilary Jones with Clair in the national semi-final. s
21 October. Updated: 27 October 17:30
WYCHBOLD resident Clair Shipway, who shed more than six-and-a-half stone in just 11 months with Slimming World, is a step closer to being named the organisation’s slimmer of the year after making it through to the national final.
The Standard reported a fortnight ago how Clair had made it through to the top 48 in the country from 400,000 slimmers after attending the Slimming World group at Witton Middle School in Droitwich run by Peggy Sowerby.
And, after the national semi-finals in Derby, where she met TV doctor Hilary Jones, Clair has made the top ten and will now line up in the final in Birmingham on November 12.
Clair praised the help and support she has received from the Slimming World group.
“If ever my motivation did start to fade, my consultant and the rest of the group were there to remind me how far I’d come -we talked and laughed a lot.”
Peggy said: “Clair is not only looking great, she’s added years to her life and become a role model in our local community.”
Peggy’s Slimming World groups are at 5.30pm and 7pm every Wednesday at Witton Middle School, Old Coach Road, Droitwich or every Thursday at Perdiswell Primary School, Worcester at 6pm.
